| The Kirklees Healthy
College Standard is a pilot scheme which came about as Huddersfield
New College wanted to find out if there existed a healthy college
standard along the same lines as the National Healthy School Standard.
in the absence of an existing framework Huddersfield New College
and Kirklees Healthy School Team decided to write and pilot the
Kirklees Healthy College Standard along similar lines to the Kirklees
Healthy Schools Standard.
A healthy college task group was set up in October 2002 and the
Kirklees Healthy College Standard is a result of two years of work
and consultation.
There is a growing network of colleges who are piloting the Healthy
College Standard and who meet termly to feedback.
