Health Data

Young People's Survey

Every two years NHS Kirklees provides a health questionnaire for all secondary schools in Kirklees. This questionnaire is called the Young People's Survey (formally the Year 9 survey) and the information collected from this bi-annual survey provides schools with a lot of information about the health and wellbeing of 14 / 15 year olds across Kirklees.  It allows the comparison of information for different areas in Kirklees and will help to plan and target work to meet the needs of the children and young people.

All Head Teachers receive copies of the school level results for their school and are able to see how these results compare with results for Kirklees overall.

Please note that we cannot publish the school level data on this website, and that the above link is only for an executive summary of the overall results for Kirklees.

Joint Strategic Needs Assessment

Another useful document is the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).  This is produced in partnership by the NHS and the local authority. The JSNA pulls together a wide range of information about the current and future health and well-being needs of the local population. It helps teams in the NHS to plan and target their work.

You can find a copy of the latest Joint Strategic Needs Assessment here: (2009)
