Healthy Start Scheme

 

 

What is the Healthy Start Scheme?

Healthy Start is a Government scheme for pregnant women and their families and provides everyone who qualifies with vouchers which can be used to buy milk, fruit, vegetables and infant formula. The scheme also gives free vitamin supplements to pregnant women and young children.

 

Who is eligible for the Scheme?

People are eligible if they are pregnant or have a child under 4 years old

AND:

OR:

Pregnant women under 18 years of age.

 

Healthy Start in Kirklees

NHS Kirklees is extending the vitamin part of the scheme to those who are not currently eligible under the National scheme.

So anyone who is pregnant or has a childunder 4 years old and living in one of the following localities can get free supplements:

It would be really helpful if schools could signpost parents who are eligble for this scheme to this informaiton. The following word document can be used in your school newsletters to alert parents to the scheme.
