Parents/ carers are consulted about, and involved in, the life of the school and the healthy schools priorities |
- Healthy
schools priorities communicated to parents / carers via e.g.
newsletters, displays, membership of healthy schools task group
- Opportunities for parents / carers to influence healthy schools priorities
- Consideration given to different literacy levels and languages spoken by parents / carers if appropriate

entrance, reception and all access points should be clearly signposted
and adequate instructions for all visitors to gain access to the school |

|
Provision of shelter and shade or procedures in place to address sun safety |
- Ideally, permanent outside shaded areas in place
- Where above is not in place other measures are taken, e.g. provision of sun hats, temporary sun shade
|
|
The school community ensures a clean, safe environment free of litter, dog faeces, graffiti and vandalism |
- Procedures in place to monitor the school environment and to effectively address these issues if/when they arise
|

locks on doors if appropriate and healthy practice and provision re
menstruation for staff and pupils
- Cleaned regularly with effective procedures to address graffiti and clear procedures for reporting any problems
- Respectful of privacy and dignity (e.g. for changing children)
